William’s Priorities for Colorado

Our community is at its best when everyone has the opportunity to succeed. That means ensuring affordable housing, investing in our schools, keeping our neighborhoods safe, and protecting our natural resources.

I’m proud to champion these priorities and will continue working tirelessly to bring positive change to District 33 and all of Colorado.

  • William helped us deliver a fully funded education budget for the first time in a decade, which helped avoid crowded classrooms and retain quality teachers while also investing in more mental health support for kids.

As a proud graduate of Broomfield public schools and local higher education, William knows that making education affordable is essential. That’s why he has:

    • Helped high school students reduce college costs and get a jump start on their futures with college-level classes to earn college credit available to them in high school.

    • Helped expand opportunities for high school students to earn industry-based certificates recognized by local and national workforces, preparing them to succeed after graduation.

  • William is leading the way on tougher laws to curb gun violence, increasing penalties for auto theft, and helped expand support for victims and survivors of crime, including stronger protections for victims of domestic violence.

  • William is the pro-choice candidate.

He will always protect the fundamental right to safe and legal abortion. Each pregnancy and circumstance is different, and when patients make personal medical decisions, a patient’s health, not politics, should drive those decisions.

    • William supports legislation that enables every person to have the right to control their body, life, and future. He will always oppose efforts to limit reproductive health care.

    • William supports protecting funding for health centers and stands with healthcare providers to protect access to family planning services.

  • William believes everyone should have access to affordable, quality care. He has fought to expand access to behavioral health services and for more transparency in health insurance plans. He is committed to protecting access to care throughout Colorado, including in our rural communities.

    • He’s voted to cap the price of epi-pens because no family should struggle to afford necessary medication.

    • He supports the Affordable Care Act and has fought to protect Colorado’s healthcare exchange.

    • Colorado’s doctors proudly endorse and support him because he knows everyone should have access to quality care.

  • Colorado needs to make quality investments to fix our transportation challenges.

We need to think not only for today but also for decades in the future. That means making investments in infrastructure now, increasing accountability and transparency regarding transportation dollars and how they are spent, and focusing on reducing congestion across Colorado.

William has brought Democrats and Republicans together while sponsoring legislation to:

    • Repair bridges and tunnels more quickly and efficiently

    • Protect vulnerable road users, including construction workers and bicyclists, so everyone returns home to their families.

  • Moving towards a more sustainable economy is about more than just climate change. It’s also a huge opportunity to build an economy that works better for everyone.

That means good jobs installing solar panels, wind turbines, sustainable HVAC systems in homes and commercial buildings, and so much more.

William has a proven track record when it comes to the environment:

    • He supports policies to meet Colorado’s climate goals.

    • William has voted to make electrification more affordable for Colorado families, including for solar panels and electric vehicles.

    • William sponsored legislation to improve Colorado’s air quality and reduce pollution.
